There's not much we can't help you develop and promote!
Our Youth Volunteering Development Managers (YVDMs) are keen to increase the number and scope of organisations and roles for young people in Oxfordshire to get into, and are more than happy to discuss any ideas or concerns, and to come to meet you wherever you are in the county.
Whether through meetings or email, information for our database is taken about the organisation's remit; distinct volunteering roles; and volunteer requirements (ie age, experiences, skills, time commitment, recruitment process, etc can be specified). Sample forms about the organisation and volunteering opportunities can be seen here - they are comprehensive yet easy to use, and demonstrate that control of recruitment - and to a large extent, even who is signposted by us - is in your hands.
We then promote these roles through uploading them to the national volunteering websites vinspired.com and do-it.org.uk, flagging them up through online media, and through the Youth Volunteer Advisors meeting with young people in groups and individually.
In addition to informal brainstorming and discussion meetings, YVDMs can also deliver local training sessions on volunteering good practice and requirements.
Please don't hesitate to get in touch if you would like to ask us anything about youth volunteering and possibilities for your organisation, or if you'd like us to promote (again, for free!) any new or current opportunities to young people.
